Today’s Reminder: Love
“So we clean house with the family, asking each morning in meditation that our Creator show us the way of patience, tolerance, kindliness and love.”
~ Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous ~
Spiritual Principles Series
The principle of love is easily recognizable in the family recovery community. It shows up with a warm greeting for the newcomer in the room, a phone call to check in with a struggling family member, an invitation for coffee before the meeting, friendly handshakes and hugs or a simple eye contact that says “I understand”. Love is an action word and one of the key components in our fellowship. Here we find a group of people that would ordinarily not mix but we are bonded through the addict we love and most importantly the love we have for each other. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and strongest advocates. We hold each other accountable and offer unending support. Love is the belonging we have to one another on this amazing journey called recovery.

Questions to Consider This Week
- What are intentional ways I can love the ones who are on this journey with me? How can I love those that are not ready to commit to family recovery yet?
- Where has God shown up to love me through the people he Has placed in my life?
