TAKING ACTION IN RECOVERY
Weekly Focal Point: Taking Action
“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature”.
~ Marcus Aurelius ~
Surround Yourself With People Who Take Action
In active addiction, we often found ourselves attracted to a lifestyle of chaos and unfortunate events. We viewed the world in a very different perspective, only looking for things to relieve our spiritual malady – things that only hindered us more. Now in sobriety, we have a different outlook on the world. Those things that we use to search for are distant from us. We now find it valuable to be connected to others also working a program of recovery, surrounding ourselves with those who hold us accountable and keep us on the correct course of action. We understand that who we choose to stick with is vital to how our lives are lived.
Questions for Our Consideration
- How are my relationships effecting my brow on life? Negatively? Positively?
- Am I connected with a group of people practicing the principles of recovery?
- Do I find myself growing more when I surround myself by people taking action?
